Terms & privacy
The agreements that cover your Cortico account. Last updated 2 July 2026.
- Cortico is the software. Your club or school is who you actually train with — your membership contract is with them, not with us.
- Clubs set their own prices, schedules and cancellation policies.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your card details.
1. About Cortico
Cortico B.V. ("Cortico", "we") of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, provides a platform that clubs, dojos, studios and schools ("Clubs") use to run enrolment, class schedules, memberships and billing. These terms govern your member account on that platform. By creating an account you agree to them.
2. Cortico is a platform, not your club
When you enrol, book a class or buy a membership through Cortico, your agreement for those services is between you and the Club. Cortico is not a party to it. We do not run classes, employ instructors, set prices or schedules, or decide cancellation, refund or grading policies. The Club does, and its own terms may apply in addition to these.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16, or a parent or legal guardian creating an account for your family.
- Children are added as member profiles under a parent or guardian's account.
- Keep your details accurate and your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One account works across every Club on Cortico.
4. Bookings, memberships and attendance
Bookings and trial requests made through the platform are confirmed by the Club. Attendance, grading records and membership status are maintained by the Club. Cancellations, no-shows, freezes and refunds follow the Club's policy and applicable consumer law.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Cortico does not store your full card details. The Club is the merchant for amounts you pay it; Cortico collects on the Club's behalf where indicated. If a recurring payment fails, the Club may suspend your membership until it is settled. Refund requests go to your Club.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the platform: no unauthorised access, scraping, disrupting the service, impersonation, or harassment of Clubs, staff or other members. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
7. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Cortico available and secure, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service; maintenance and outages happen. We may change or discontinue features, giving reasonable notice where a change materially affects you.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Cortico is not liable for the acts or omissions of Clubs, including the quality, safety or cancellation of classes, or injuries sustained during Club activities, nor for indirect damage. For the platform itself, our total liability is capped at the higher of €100 or the fees you paid to Cortico in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or affects rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
9. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time in your account settings. Obligations you still have towards a Club (for example a running membership term) are unaffected and remain governed by the Club's terms. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with prior notice where the law requires it.
10. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email or in the app. If you don't agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect.
11. Law, disputes and contact
Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. Questions or complaints: support@cortico.app.
